Paradise
Pond Party!

Pond
Party
Pond
party is offered for large dogs every Monday, Wednesday and
Saturday between 8 -9:30 a.m.* Monday ponds are for boarding and daycare dogs only, but we
invite you to come with your pets on any Wednesday and/or Saturday to have that special
one-on-one with your four-legged buddy.
Daycare and boarding (large) dogs can participate in the
Pond Party on any of these days ~ it’s also a great way to leave your pet with us for a very
special Spa Day.
Even if
your dog doesn't like to go into the water, it's a chance
for an ADDITIONAL 1½ hours of exercise (AND it’s a way that you’re guaranteed a tired,
worn out pup)! The cost is $10 per dog and includes access to 2-acres of alligator-free, artesian
ponds with tennis balls, play sticks, ball throwers, towels, and of course, a dog wash area. See “Pond
Party Membership” below to learn about the Pond Party discount.
* Entry
into pond is between 8 - 8:30 only, though the party
lasts until 9:30 a.m.
Pond Party Memberships:
With the
purchase of a Pond Membership all Pond Parties for your pet
are only $5 per time whether
your dog is boarding, participating in doggie
daycare, attending staff-supervised or owner-supervised pond, or having a Grand Spa Day. Pond Memberships are $100
per dog and are good for one calendar calendar year from the date of purchase. A Pond
Membership also enables you to take part in the membership specials we’ll be offering throughout the year.

Grand
Spa Day:
Our Spa
Day Package for large dogs is a real treat! Beginning at
8:00 a.m. on Monday, Wednesday or Saturday, your pet will enjoy 1½ hours of ball-chasing
and swimming. Then on to a quick wash
and Turkish towel rubdown. A 45-minute nap will be followed
by a leisurely lunch (if desired) and then it’s off to play ball in our various fenced-in yards.
Finally, the day is topped off with another cleansing bath complete with Paradise’s exclusive & popular cleansing
shampoo, ear cleaning and nail trimming. This Spa package is only $50 ($45 with a Pond
Membership). What a great way to spoil your best friend and take home a tired, clean and played-out
pooch! Gift Certificates are available.

 |
Only adults 18
& over will be allowed in the pole barn area and the pond
area. Children under 18 must remain on the circular driveway
- away from the pole barn & pond fences. |
 |
All dogs must
be leashed except inside the pole barn field and the pond
area. |
 |
Bags, buckets
& scoops will be provided. Please clean up after your dog(s)
both inside & outside the pond areas. |
 |
As per
clients' requests, no whistles, training aids and/or treats
are to be used on pond days. Also, please do not bring
special toys as that could cause a problem. |
 |
If your dog is
causing a disruption, needing a time-out, or becoming "toy
aggressive," please take your dog to the other side of the
pond and play with him or her independently. |
 |
If there is an
altercation between dogs, try to grab the TAIL and not the
collar! This will cause a distraction and will break eye
contact, which generally stops the altercation. |
 |
Dogs
participating in the pond parties have been pre-screened for
aggression and have provided proof of current vaccinations.
If we have not received your most recent vaccination record, or if
your dog is having a "bad day" (acting aggressively or
unsociably) the staff may request that you leave
immediately. |
 |
To avoid
damage to our lawn sprinkler heads, please back your vehicle
from the roadway into a parking place in the grass along the
road. |
 |
All dogs must
complete a "trial daycare" prior to pond party or spa day
participation. This is so we know your dog,
prior to introducing him/her to the pack. |
|
We truly want
all pond participants, both 2-legged & 4-legged, to have a
fun and social time at "pond!" Suggestions and comments are
welcome as we strive to make your experience here at
Paradise Luxury Pet Estate even more enjoyable!! Please feel
free to talk with us during the party or call/e-mail us
during the week.
Thank you for
your cooperation & support!

Morgan getting the most from Pond Party & Spa Day!
This is
Ms. Morgan. She's a female Chow who has been coming to
Paradise for daycare since she was 16 weeks old. She's
extremely friendly and is proof that early socialization is
the key to a well-adjusted dog
Do I look fat in this collar????
Approximately 25% of dogs are overweight. Obesity in dogs can cause medical problems for the cardiovascular, respiratory and skeletal system. Ways to see if your dog is overweight:
Rib Check: Place both of your thumbs on your dog's backbone and spread both hands across his rib cage. On an obese dog, you won't be able to feel the ribs through the fat covering, or will only be able to feel them when you exert significant pressure. Actually feeling your dog is important, as the coat of many dogs will make a visual check difficult. Profile Check: Examine your dog's profile - it's best if you are level with the dog. In an obese dog, the stomach will hang down and there will be no abdominal tuck behind the rib cage.
Overhead Check: Looking at your dog from overhead, see if you can see a waist behind the ribs. An overweight dog will not have a discernible waist.
Ways to avoid obesity: Limit treats. Turn one biscuit into 3 treats. Avoid table scraps. Exercise your dog. Just like people they need to burn more calories than they take in. Measure their food. A healthy dog is a happy dog!!!
